Enabling password protection

If you are using Unified Remote on a shared network, public hotspot, or using external connections, then you should probably enable password protection to restrict who can access your computer. If you're only using Unified Remote on your own private network, then you don't have to worry about this.

Configure the server

Open the web manager on your computer using the notification icon or in your browser http://localhost:9510/web.

In the side menu, select Settings > Security.

Then either select to use a single password or individual accounts.

Once you're done, click save and the server should restart.

Configure the app

If you receive an "Authentication Failed" error in the app, then you should re-add your saved server in the app and enter the password when prompted.
